Celebrating the College and Mourning Its Closing
Adrian Segar, Professor of Computer Science at Marlboro from 1983-1993, was moved to coordinate and facilitate an online wake for Marlboro College after the closing of the college on Potash Hill. In his message to the Marlboro College community announcing the event, Adrian described the event in the following way.
“This Wake is an opportunity for reminiscences, catching up, meeting folks we’ve heard from online but never ‘met,’ catharsis if necessary, the unexpected, and fun. It's an opportunity to experience a community remembrance of Marlboro on Potash Hill, and for you to meet with your Marlboro tribe and make the resulting time meaningful in whatever way fits for you and the others you're with.”
We hope that by sharing the event video it continues to serve the Marlboro College community in the spirit in which Adrian conceived it.
