Sarah Horowitz

Candidate Profile ā€“ 2024 Alumni Council Election

Sarah Horowitz, 2010

Sarah Horowitz

Hi! Iā€™m Sarah, and I am a Marlboro College Alumna (Class of 2010). At Marlboro, I studied Art History and Museum Studies, fields that I still work in to this day. After Marlboro, I was the Gallery Director at the Vermont Center for Photography in Brattleboro before pursuing my MA in Art History at UMass Amherst. I am now a PhD candidate in the history of art and architecture at Boston University. My experiences and professional connections I made at Marlboro definitely shaped my academic and career path. On a personal level, Marlboro is where I met my husband (Benjamin Martin, Class of 2009), and I still have many friends and colleagues from Marlboro with whom I keep in touch.

As a member of the Marlboro College Alumni Council, I aim to keep the Marlboro legacy alive in a couple different ways. First, I believe that the Alumni Council and Alumni Association should prioritize building an established network of alumni so that we can support the Marlboro community and plan reunions and informal gatherings. Second, I think the Council could more actively collaborate with the Marlboro College Institute for the Liberal Arts at Emerson College to grow our membership and ensure that the Marlboro spirit lives on into the future.
