MCAA Council News: Sep/Oct 2022
Dear Friends,
Over seventy members of the Association have been nominated to run for the four seats open on Council this fall! At this point, all nominees have been notified and now have the chance to accept their nominations. We are hopeful about having a robust slate and looking forward to the election and the future of the Association. Be on the lookout for more emails about the election and bylaws ratification process! Again, we send our grateful thanks to Melanie Gottlieb ‘02, who has stepped down as of October 1, for all of her dedicated service to the Council.

We are announcing a new committee in support of keeping us all connected and helping to ensure smooth and broad participation in the elections. John Coakley '02, Melanie Gottlieb '02, Amy Tudor '99, and Pamela Nye '93 have been working together on our alumni contact data, and have recently been formally charged as the Contact Data Management Working Group. This group’s mission is “to investigate and implement a solution to streamline and document management processes for the MCAA member data.” Among their tasks is maintaining our data, developing a privacy policy, and identifying software to keep track of contact information. The Council thanks these volunteers for their time, expertise, and labor! We anticipate sharing more from them in the coming months.
The prime task for the Contact Data Working Group right now is to ensure that the MCAA has your correct email address. If you are receiving this message, your membership is associated with this email address, and you will receive a ballot for the upcoming election on November 12 via this address. If you receive this email multiple times to different email accounts, please contact us to let us know which you'd like to designate as your primary contact.
One other piece of news to share: Potash Hill, Inc., has hired Marlboro alumnus Brian Mooney ‘91 as Managing Director, who will oversee the management, marketing, constituent and community relations, scheduling, and program development for activities on the campus from September through May each year. Congratulations to Brian! We look forward to working with him in the future. (Brian Mooney photo by Vaune Trachtman ‘89). Photo from this story here.
As usual, contact us with any questions, and check out our meeting minutes for more details of the activities of the Council.
Sending warm autumnal wishes,
CJ Churchill ‘91, Dagmawi Iyasu Eminetu ‘98, Mark Genszler ‘95, Kate Hollander, ‘02, Pamela Witte Nye ‘93, Bess Poehlmann ‘92, Amy Domrad Tudor ‘99, and Ellie Roark ‘12
