Candidate Profile – 2022 Alumni Council Election

Jack Rossiter-Munley
I graduated Marlboro in 2012, and now, after a pandemic-interrupted Masters in Journalism from Columbia University, work as a freelance researcher, journalist, and podcast producer.
As a student at Marlboro I was heavily involved in the community. I was an RA for two years, twice served as student representative to the board of trustees, and served on several committees. I believe in Marlboro and its mission as much now as I did then and have the same desire to contribute.
I’ve tried to find better ways of saying all this, but, to put it simply, I’m a nerd for governance. I love the nitty gritty of organizing. I want to help the Alumni Association continue to grow and solidify itself as a community every bit as vibrant as Marlboro itself.
I think three important objectives in the next three years are:
1) Cementing a permanent, ongoing, reciprocal relationship with the entities involved in the ownership and management of the Marlboro campus.
2) Building on work already undertaken by the MCAA Archives Committee (loving the Memory Bank on the website!) to create sustainable methods of archiving experiences of Marlboro College including both physical and digital media that already exist, as well as new records of the college and those who lived, worked, and studied there.
3) Building a forward-looking identity for the Alumni Association by sponsoring and organizing educational and social justice programs and initiatives that carry forward the values of Marlboro.
