Candidate Profile – 2022 Alumni Council Election

Allison Gammons
I graduated Marlboro with a degree in Scandinavian and Holocaust Studies. From that, I went on for a MA in Religion, and more recently a Master in Library and Information Science (with a certificate in Data Driven Decision Making). In my free time I dabble with historical costuming and fiber arts. My current job is within the Housing Department at a State University and I find myself wishing the students I encounter could have just a little taste of what I got in my time at Marlboro. Marlboro was (and still is) an important place for me. I fell in love when I stepped on the campus, and that connection has remained strong. The connections and community I made there have continued to be influencing factors in my life. Community and Connection – the easy, difficult, good, and bad, that can all come with it – is a huge piece of what Marlboro has meant to me. And this is part of what I think the Alumni Council should focus on over the next three years. How can we further build our connections to serve the Marlboro Alumni community as a whole, reaching those who may not be on social media, and creating meaningful connections? Over the past few decades, I’ve done a lot of work in creating intentional community, navigating differences, and organizing information. I would be honored to get to share these skills in helping continue creating a solid foundation for the Marlboro Alumni Council and Alumni Association.
